Comforting critters
Children who bring a new or nearly new stuffed-animal donation to the
Abilene Zoo from now through Dec. 24 will receive free zoo admission when
accompanied by a paying adult.
The stuffed animals will be placed on a ''Comforting Critter Tree'' on
display at the zoo. After the holidays, the stuffed animals will be
donated to the Abilene Fire Department and Fire Auxiliary so that
firefighters might give them to children they encounter on emergency fire
and medical calls.
